My monthly newsletter went out this morning and I hope you received it. If you didn’t, please let me know and I’ll be happy to forward it to you.
I’ve been working on a couple of bridal bouquets lately. One is already finished but is a gift so I cannot post any photos of it, which is a bummer because it’s so pretty. I’ll share it as soon as I can. The other will hopefully be done today and I’ll share the finished version with you on Thursday.
In the meantime, here are a few photos from when I started it.
This bridal bouquet painting is a custom order from Sweden and consists of beautiful soft pale roses and peonies. What a treat to see the flowers come to life. It’s almost like they are popping out of the painting, don’t you think?
More and more roses are filled in and the shape of a bouquet is starting to reveal itself.
The first layer is finished! Woo hoo!
This is the stage I’m at right now. The background layer has been added (it was a tough choice between purple and soft yellow and I’ll explain more on Thursday), and now I’m making sure all the edges of the flowers have some definition and the shading is correct. As you can see, it’s quite the patient-testing activity, but I love it.
xo,
Erica
