{original acrylic by Erica Eriksdotter}
Happy New Year everyone! Let’s kick start 2012 with a new happy painting, shall we?
I’m so grateful when my clients refer me to their friends and family. It’s really the most beautiful compliment I can get and no matter how much PR or marketing I do, nothing beats a referral. That’s why I was elated when a client’s father-in-law wanted to commission a piece as a gift to his wife this past Christmas after seeing a couple of my pieces in my client’s home.
Yellow Hibiscus is an original acrylic painting of a hibiscus. I did the shading in different shades of gray to add some more interest to the painting and emphasize the texture of the petals because of it. I think it adds a little bit more interest to the painting as well. It measures 30 x 30 and is 1.5 inches deep. The background color is a mix of light blue, purple and gray and it spreads onto all sides of the painting.

I wish you could all see my art in person. It is such a different experience viewing a painting up close compared to viewing it via photos on a computer. But I don’t have to tell you that, you know that already. It just makes me a little sad that I can’t bring you the full experience.
Casey got me a Flip video for Christmas. I know, they don’t make them any more but he managed to get his hands on one. I’m filming the painting I’m currently working on and it’s probably going to look awful but I hope to bring you a little time lapse when it’s done. So stay tuned for that.
xo,
Erica
