“Scottish Songbird” – Painting No 3 in the Spring Art Auction 2013 series
8×10 inches on 1.5 inches gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 25 x 4 cm)
Opening Bid: $24 || Gallery Price: $185
Yay! It’s a birdie! My birds have become so popular that we needed another one! And you may recognize this one since it has been my little “coming soon” teaser for the art auction.
This little guy is based on a photograph by the talented Scottish photographer, Ed Duncan. We became facebook friends a while back and it’s nice to have small business owners supporting each other, no matter where in the world you are. He shoots amazing landscapes all around Scotland and ones in a while, a little bird sings him a song.
This lovely Scottish Songbird is sitting on a branch against a blissful sky. Ed took the photo of this singing chaffinch last spring in Gairloch, which is pretty much the top of the U.K. I have his permission to use it as a base for this painting, and I’ll share a few behind the scenes photos from when I painted this a little later today.
Scottish Songbird measures 8×10 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 25 x 4cm). The lovely sky continues onto all the sides of the painting and it’s ready to hang as is.
Once the bidding is over and this painting has a winner, I will ship it via USPS Priority Mail or US Priority International Mail Globally. It will be packaged very carefully.
