“Afternoon Tea” – Painting No 4 in the Spring Art Auction 2013 series
8×10 inches on 1.5 inches gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 25 x 4 cm)
Opening Bid: $24 || Gallery Price: $185
It’s another teacup! Well, several actually, stacked tea cups and saucers ready for a fun afternoon tea session. I’m a tea drinker and love tea cups. If we had more cabinet space at home I think I would be a collector.
Just like my first teacup, these are from the Scottish vintage shop Peony and Thistle and their etsy shop. They sell different things and I recently purchased a tiny little saucer from them which I was debating to paint or not. Maybe another time.
These tea cups are made by Royal Stafford and the saucers are Duchess Bone China, so not technically a matching set if you are inspecting the flowers, but isn’t that the charm of vintage?
The Afternoon Tea measures 8×10 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 25 x 4cm). The background is a very light gray with darker gray serving as the shading. There’s a hint that they are standing on a white table against a white wall. It’s ready to hang as is.
Once the bidding is over and this painting has a winner, I will ship it via USPS Priority Mail or US Priority International Mail Globally. It will be packaged very carefully.
