Oh my, I can’t get over his adorable teeth sticking out. Bubba is definitely a force to be reckoned with, don’t be fooled by this sweet little under bite. 😉

Sometimes we want to give something very special but the timing isn’t always right. My client wanted to give a portrait of their dog to her fiance on his birthday, but unfortunately I was already booked with commissions and was not going to be able to get an actual painting to her in time. Luckily, I have a solution for that, and she gave him a Studio Eriksdotter gift certificate together with a pet brochure on his birthday and her fiance was thrilled and equally excited about the booked commissioned piece. 

“Bubba, the Force” measures 8×10 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. Regarding the background color, the client requested that Bubba “stand out” but the color didn’t really mattered to him. As I was painting, I kept thinking charcoal or pencil gray would be a great balance to his light fur and compliment the colors in his ears and nose really well. I’m really happy with the outcome. The background spreads onto all sides, and the painting is sealed with a matte varnish to protect it against UV light, dust, smoke etc.
