The bridal bouquet painting is so perfect and so “us”! The colors are spot on – the way it all blends together is totally reminiscent of our modern-romantic wedding, and it matches oh so perfectly against our light gray walls! We also love how it is not so obvious that it is a flower (to anyone but us of course!). This painting was commissioned by a client who gave a gift certificate for a bridal bouquet to her friend at her bridal shower. Her friend was thrilled and once her wedding photos were in we started planning her painting. She described her and her husband’s style as modern and was drawn to my more “charcoal” style pieces, like Spots of Color, and the more modern take on my flowers instead of a full bouquet. I suggested an off centered close-up view of one of her lovely peonies, in the style of a pencil drawing with a blush pink center to give it a little bit of life.

I think it’s wonderful that my client was able to describe her style for us to work out a piece that became so “them.” Art doesn’t have to fit in with your decor but instead buy or commission a piece that calls your name, that inspires you and uplifts you, and in this case fills you with love while reminiscing about one of the most romantic and happy days of your life.

Melanie’s Bridal Bouquet measures 16×16 inches (40cm x 40cm) and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted white.
