LiveLikeYou Prints on Sale

2024-08-27T08:10:48-04:00

We’re kicking off 2014 with a fun and inspiration sale. I love these fun interior design renderings, such happy and intriguing interior designs. Framed in the above photo is the Recessionista Living Room and the Aloha Chic Entry (interested in purchasing these 2 framed prints? Click here.) The original paintings were a collaboration with Jill Sorensen which started several years ago when a friend of mine was reading Jill’s blog and her need for original artists. My friend [...]

Powder Room – Gallery Wall

2024-08-27T09:35:09-04:00

We’ve seen the AFTER photos of how the powder room turned out (LOVE!), and the inspirational photos for this powder room, so let’s dive deeper into that gallery wall. Over the years, Casey and I have collected pieces from artists we love and because I’ve taken over the whole house as my own personal gallery space, many beautiful pieces have sadly been tucked away. I thought why not put them all up in the powder room where our [...]

Invitation to Wellness

2024-08-27T08:18:42-04:00

It has been a long time coming and I’m ready to announce that I’m expanding the studio to include individual healing sessions! If you’ve followed me for a while it comes as no surprise to you as I’ve shared my studies with Master Healers Colette Chase and Cherie Young on the blog. I talk frequently about connecting with energies and intuition through my art, and how healing and my art is very much one. Art customers have shared how [...]

Original Painting: Grandmother’s Lily of the Valley

2019-04-04T15:16:01-04:00

Again, THANK YOU!  I can't adequately express in words how much this means to my family." - K.C. of Reston, Virginia Often the commissions I receive are created to heal, honor and pay respect to the past and the future, while expressing gratitude in the now. Many of my clients reach out to me to heal the loss of a pet for example, or to celebrate love in the form of a bridal bouquet. "Grandmother's Lily of [...]

Original Painting: Sasha’s Pet Portrait

2024-08-27T10:35:25-04:00

It's stunning! - M.S. of Virginia Sasha’s Portrait is an original painting commissioned by a woman in Virginia who wanted to surprised her husband with something special for his birthday and this lovely dog had been his for many years. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years ago. My client came to last year's Open Studio Event and saw a pet portrait I was working on and knew this was what she wanted to give. "Sasha's Portrait" measures 14x18 [...]

Photos from Cocktails & Canvases, Oct. 5

2024-08-27T08:03:01-04:00

View the video above for a glimpse into what one of my Cocktails & Canvases painting events are like. Click here if the video isn't working above. Saturday's Cocktails & Canvases was so fun to host. We had a full group which started as a normal event but until mid-day Friday I decided to make the event FREE to everyone. Why?  Well, the government shutdown is affecting everyone, but especially in and around the DC area where so many [...]

The making of Mr Kitty Cat

2024-08-26T18:35:25-04:00

In honor of National Cat Day, let's take a stroll down memory lane and see some behind the scenes photos from when I painted Mr. Kitty Cat. You got to start somewhere and if you follow me here on the blog you know a painting never gets done in one layer! Here's the first layer of Mr. Kitty Cat after sketching him out. I've painted a total of three pet portraits for this darling client from Indiana, two [...]

Preparations in Full Swing

2024-08-27T08:09:40-04:00

The prepping for the Open Studio this Saturday is in full swing. Last week I worked on a pet portrait while baby sitting the printer. I'm very efficient if I say so myself and love to multitask so I brought the big Epson printer into the studio so I get lots of print jobs done at the same time (can't get the epson working via wireless. ugh). Casey helped me this past weekend to get all the prints [...]

Postcards from Spain – Part 1

2024-08-27T08:10:26-04:00

Now that the short, winter days are here, let's head to Spain! Casey and I went there this past September to meet up with my best friend and her amazingly adorable family who were on vacation from Sweden. I was fighting vacation mode before, remember? Linn and I have known each other since we were 13 and our ties go further back than that as her dad were friends with my parents in their 20's. I find it [...]
