“Flowers in the Air” – Painting a Day No 5
16 x 20 x 1.5 inches (41x51x4cm)
SOLD
I figured I’d throw in a larger canvas into the mix! “Flowers in the Air” is an original acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and will be the only one of this size in the “Painting a Day” series. It measures 16×20 inches and is 1.5 inches deep and is the same size as “Skyline II.“
I have to admit this painting took me longer than a day. I started it on Tuesday but put it aside for another painting when I realized it needed much more time. I’ve been working on it every day since in addition to the other paintings and now it’s finally done.
These pink and purple flowers, with their long and lanky stems, remind me of kites flying in the air. They are free to dance with the wind and yet are still planted firmly in the ground. I think it’s a nice reminder for everyone and maybe especially for a little girl. We can be free to reach for our dreams, be true to who we are and still be grounded at the same time. It is when we are grounded we can truly fly free.
The background color continues on to all sides of the painting so it can hang with or without a frame. It’s signed on the front and signed, titled and dated on the back. I will package it carefully for protection and ship it via USPS.
