With only with 30 minutes to go before the first group of ladies arrived, Casey said “make sure to get rid of all the extra estrogen before I come back” (he spent the day at a distillery) and as on que, the Spice Girls started playing on the 90’s Pop Spotify list and Katie-Beth and I broke out in dance. And that kinda set the tone for the rest of the day.
Armed with a cocktail in hand, budding artists picked out a print (from all my prints of paintings I’ve done) that served as an inspirational piece. They could either copy it or create their own piece with their own technique and colors. Next, they picked a canvas (10×10 or a 8×10, 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas – the same high quality canvases that I use), and picked their paint colors and started painting. Katie-Beth kept the drinks coming and I lent a helping hand as needed.
Seriously, all the paintings came out so wonderful!! I love how each person can do what they want instead of only having to paint what I tell them to. That’s no fun, and this is a FUN event with laughter, music and drinks. Here’s what one of my painters said:
“I had a wonderful time! I’m happy with the way my painting turned out and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it. I enjoyed the creative outlet, doing something I don’t normally do, seeing all your artwork and relaxing with a lovely, fruity cocktail. I had so much fun!”
