Woo hoo! I’ve started prepping for the Open Studio Event over the last couple of weekends whenever I’ve had a free moment. Â Well, the actual prepping for this year’s Open Studio Event started months ago when Lauren and I set a date that would work for us both. I mailed out the “Upcoming Events” postcard early fall, and the invitations went out early October. The photo above is from when I addressed 100 envelopes one early Saturday morning before an Cocktails & Canvases event.
By the way, my invitations were sent to customer in the surrounding DC Metro area so if you’re feeling left out, pleeeeese email me and I’ll pop your invitation in the mail straight away. OR grab a free ticket here (just so i know how many are coming so I can keep the wine flowing). Lastly, a reminder postcard is going out early November to help people remember to RSVP before Nov. 9.
So this is the other type of prepping I’ve been doing – framing!
I’m framing many prints this year in various sizes, exclusive to the event. Some larger and some smaller. The two bird prints above are in size 12×12 and framed in square 20×20 and 1.5 inches deep frames. They look amazing on the wall, but not so great in these grainy iPhone photos.
I dropped off a couple of paintings and several limited edition prints at my framer, Farm Girl Framer, the other day. I’m so spoiled with her framing expertise.
And the rest are just a few snapshots of the other fine art prints I framed over the past weekend. Not sure how I’ll fit them all but oh well – it will be a jampacked event with jampacked art! Everything will be available at a first-come first-serve basis.
Swoon. Love these two together! What a great feeling they project. Perfect for a kitchen or like a powderroom even.
I think the animal prints are a perfect addition for a kid’s room.
I love the finished look of a fine art print so I hope seeing these at the Open Studio Event will get people excited. See photos from last year’s event and grab a free ticket here. Now, on to where to hang everything!
