These romantic roses are almost melting into the background creating a nice vintage and shabby chic feel to it. This is definitely a first for me. I’m known for my detailed flower paintings and life-like pets, never have I done a piece with barely any of it before. Just so I wouldn’t be tempted, I used a larger brush.
I’m really happy with this piece. I enjoy the soft colors and the dreamy look. It kinda just flowed out of me, almost painting itself. I may have to try another one. What do you think?
“Roses – a la Shabby Chic” measures 8×10 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. To keep with the vintage look, the sides are painted white. No frame is necessary.
