“Grazing Socks” – Painting No 8 of Summer Art Auction 2012
8×8 on 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 20 x 4cm)
Opening Bid: $20
Gallery Price: $130
It’s a horse! My first horse, ever. And I really like him. Isn’t he so handsome? We recently took a day trip to Casey’s parents in Pennsylvania and visited this lovely horse farm. It was so peaceful and the horses were just relaxing and eating the grass. I’ve always admired horses but never grew up riding. I may conquer my respectful fear of them one day as was evident when I stood right next to one while Casey was taking a photo of me (follow me on instagram to see it @studioeriksdotter).
What’s in the name “Grazing Socks”? I had it explained to me that he was wearing white socks that protects his hooves. Typically a horse this breed has darker hooves but the socks where white so that’s what I chose to paint. 🙂
“Grazing Socks” measures 8×8 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted with an unbleached white acrylic color, which reminds me of a light beige or sand color. A frame is not necessary.
Once the bidding is over and this painting has a winner, I will ship it via USPS Priority Mail or US Priority International Mail Globally. It will be packaged very carefully and insured for the auction value.
