Shenandoah 4 Anniversary Hike 2

So how did we celebrate our 4 years as a married couple? We decided to put our 3 months of personal training to the test and do a 5 mile hike in the Shenandoah National Park and the Whiteoak Canyon Upper Falls hike (I’ve blogged about our visits to Skyline Drive before here and here). A 5 mile hike is nothing you say. Well, no. It’s not. But this was a 2.3 mile descending hike down to a beautiful waterfall and then a 2.3 mile hike back up – a 1040 ft/317 m climb!  It was awesome!

It was an absolute workout. Whew, was I glad when we reached the car again. And it was lovely to hear Casey say that he was so proud of me. I’ve come a long way in the last three months.

Happy anniversary honey! I love celebrating our milestones with tiny little adventures.

Some bonds never really leave us.
They simply find new ways to stay close.
