Annnnd we’re on! We’re kicking off two weeks of 10 brand spanking new paintings you can BID ON this morning, and first out is this “Yellow Ranunculus.”
I saw a lovely bouquet of yellow ranunculus at the local Whole Foods and gasped when I saw the heart. Can you see it? It’s in the bottom flower. Ranunculus is such a wonderful spring flower, and after seeing that heart I just had to have that particular bouquet, and I thought they would make for a lovely Spring Art Auction painting. The flowers stood next to the easel as I painted this piece (behind the scenes photos to come later).
“Yellow Ranunculus” measures 8×10 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas (20 x 25 x 4cm). The dark blue green background color creates a soothing and enticing depth, and all the sides are painted a similar, but gray-er color. It’s ready to hang as is.
